Editors’ note: “LOST”
is an appropriate term to describe the condition of millions of loyal viewers
of the
ABC show. Find all those Flashbacks and flashforwards
confusing? Relax, JJ and Damon have promised that most of the plotlines will be
explained before the big climax. But for
those who find foreplay frustrating, the 11 o’clock news will shine a light on the Easter eggs, the
turning points and provide other clues without spoiling the happy ending too.
Shot of Jack's eye opening, looking up at the bamboo. (Rosebud)
Shot of stars in night sky; Charlie writing F.A.T.E. on his
taped fingers….
Shot of Kate standing over Jack while he's working on Marshal Mars…
JACK: We don't have time to sort out everybody's god.
CHARLIE: Really, last I heard we were positively made of time.
Shot of Locke in the jungle. He hears the sound of boars and starts to run toward them. Then we can hear the metallic sound and see the trees moving. Locke halts and looks up, backs away a bit. Camera is monster POV looking at Locke. Close up of Locke looking amazed.
Jack runs off toward the figure. The man has stopped, and Jack stops, too, about 12 feet away. He walks slowly toward the man, reaches out his hand. The man turns. It's Jack's father. Jack backs away and falls. JACK: Dad?
Shot of Jack in the jungle running after the figure again, disoriented. He gets to a clearing and then father is behind him. He runs after him again, and falls down a hill and off a cliff. We see him trying to hold on, climb back up.
LOCKE: I'm an ordinary man Jack, meat and potatoes. I live in the real world. I'm not a big believer in magic. But this place is different. It's special. The others don't want to talk about it because it scares them. But we all know it. We all feel it. Is your white rabbit a hallucination? Probably. But what if everything that happened here, happened for a reason? What if this person that you're chasing is really here?
AGENT: I'm sorry Mr. Shephard, but our policy is that the body must have the proper doucmentation. There's just no latitude.
JACK: No latitude? No latitude?
Shot of Jack at caves looking at the coffin. He opens it and there's no body inside. He gets angry and beats it with a metal pipe.
Shot of Jack with a suitcase, getting ready to cover the hive. Charlie smacks a bee on his face, gets off balance and steps on the hive breaking it open. They all take off running. Jack and Kate to the caves. Locke and Charlie in the other direction. Jack and Kate take their shirts off. Kate ends up right by one of the skeletons and sees it. She's frightened and backs away. We see the skeleton.
KATE: Any idea how long they've been here?
JACK: Long. It takes 40 or 50 years for clothing to degrade like this.
[Jack finds a pouch in the clothing.]
KATE: What is it?
[Jack dumps a white stone and a black stone into his palm.]
JACK: Actually, one of them is female.
LOCKE: Our very own Adam and Eve.
LOCKE: No, it's much more beautiful than that. That's a moth cocoon. It's
ironic, butterflies get all the attention; but moths -- they spin silk, they're
stronger, they're faster.
Shot of Kate walking up the beach with bananas. She finds Sawyer's clothes
and Watership Down.
SAWYER [from the ocean]: Hell of a book. It's about bunnies.
