CBSNEWS REPORTS: Spudnut
"Sarah Palin posted to Facebook her criticism of President Obama's State of the Union call for the United States to have a new "Sputnik moment" grounded in investing to unleash innovation. Palin said in an interview on Fox News that Mr. Obama "needs to remember that what happened back then with the former communist USSR and their victory in that race to space, yeah, they won, but they also incurred so much debt at the time that it led to the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union."
Mrs. Potato Head's spudnut moment launched this missile by jeanneyess:
Yes, Sarah, space exploration is very costly, and with NASA right down 95 from me, and all the layoffs, and more planned layoffs, Cocoa Beach will be a ghost town. Now, here's something really useful you could do: how about closing down all the offshore tax evasion felony accounts that we know don't belong to the almost gone middle and the working poor, and getting statements of the history of these accounts that our IRS accountants can assess the back taxes owed with compound interest, and collecting it so that we can pay off the National Debt?
Now, let me just explain that my late ex husband who had hepetitis he caught in Vietnam which went into remission for many decades, Thank the Lord, came back, but there is a cure, Sarah, Interferon, but alas, neither his insurance nor Medicaid (when he got laid off when his short term memory was melting) would cover the Interferon so he had to die, yes, he HAD TO DIE, because money in the US, profits, are worth more than people, but before he could die, in his gradual mental failure he had neglected to do his taxes, believe that, they wouldn't pay for his Interferon, but they wanted his taxes.
So I found what papers I could and took them to my tax guy and charged (because of a cut in Education that included monies to fund a 20 year program I was employed in at the State College, a separately funded program, so I had been laid off) but the IRS takes a charge, so I paid off his taxes so that 5 months later he could die on the up and up with the IRS. So, I think its time to close those offshore tax evasion felony accounts, I mean, Sarah, that's felony, its against the law, now someone down the line has to say "The Buck Stops Here."
How, in good conscience, can you make any comment about the budget knowing that our budget problems would all likely be solved if we closed those accounts and collected the back taxes and interest and talk about cut the unemployment, when you know we wouldn't have to if we collected these back taxes with interest, AND NO 70% TAX CUT, THE MOST ABSURD THING THAT ANY MODERN WESTERN COUNTRY HAS DONE. You go ahead and see what the tax rates are in Europe for the wealthy and they pay a progressive income tax, they don't give a prize to those deacons of inherited wealth or those $60 million dollar men to pay minimum wage to their bottom feeders, which isn't even poverty line income, pay all their chief executive more money that the top guys at NASA, that comparison is a joke, of course, pay dividends to all their shareholders, and in the end, sorry Uncle Sammy, don't have the money to pay back that bail out loan, but we'll get to it some decade soon.
So, when's it gonna happen, when are you going to recommend closing all offshore tax evasion felony accounts and finally collect the taxes owed to the Treasury for so long, huh? That should be pre-eminent to any cuts we make in Medicare, Social Security, Health Care, anything. First we need to know where we stand, so collect these monies first, like the IRS wanted my late ex-husbands taxes before he died, same ethics for all, like the same Bill of Rights for all, we agree on that, don't we, like the same laws for all, like paying taxes, the same rules for all, agreed? Its not like the working poor pay taxes and the rich put their money in tax evasion accounts, that's not fair, we pay, they pay. We don't pay, felony, they don't pay, felony. That's fair.
OK, so before we start cutting diabetic's insulin off because we cannot afford it, let's collect the back taxes and compound interest from the wealthy first, and see where we are after that, and maybe the next person with hepatitis won't have to die like my son's father.
Yeah, I'm still really mad about that, wish we could sue you for causing his dad's death, I'll bet if you did that to someone rich, they would sue the pants off of you, you are the ones who made those life and death choices, not Obamacare, you, you, who let him die because of the cost of Interferon, which I could not personally afford because Bush cut the funding for our program and nobody will hire an ex-professor to bag groceries or a lot of other things, I cashed in a 401K for the emergency and I had to pay 40% interest, you guys did this to us little people for money for survival, and give them a 70% tax cut, are you crazy, there is not one other country in the Western World that GIVES money to the rich and wealthy...
Yes, we are creeps to our own working poor, just look it up, we treat our working poor worse than any of the modern Western Nations. No, I guess we're not rich after all, we are not generous enough to give life to our own people, we let them die because it costs too much to save them, like some 3rd World Nation, we are like the Egyptians, but we don't know it yet, where there was great wealth for a few and social poverty for the rest, we have come to accept this social poverty until it BREAKS, and when it does, be very, very grateful you live in Alaska."
I wonder if the spudnut can see the pyramids from her house.
